Trunk Recovered from Titanic
The crew of the Mackay Bennett recovered this travel trunk from the Titanic's floating debris. In time the trunk
found its way the the home of a New Brunswick minister. As oral history relates, this minister knew one of the
clergy men on board the Mackay Bennett who was saying prayers over the recovered Titanic victims.
The family who owned the trunk reported that at one time the trunk was filled with numerous articles of clothing.
Over time, most of these items were given away leaving only a woman's blouse, a brass wrist band with amber stone,
and a pewter and fabric purse. The purse has been completely restored and reconditioned and has had its fabric
composition replaced.
This item is available for viewing at the Audio Video Showroom in Santa Rosa, CA.
