Picture Frame

While on the body recovery mission aboard the cable ship Minia, the ship's carpenter, William Parker, was struck by the beautiful carved wood floating on the surface. He collected what he could and made a few items such as checkerboards, document boxes and this beautiful picture frame made from a section of the Grand Staircase.

Parker presented this frame to the first officer of the Minia, James Adams. The frame was acquired from the grandson of James Adams whose family owned it since his Grandfather's death in 1920. James Adams became Captain of the Minia after the Titanic incident. He was killed by a train while he was crossing the tracks new years eve 1920.
